Last time I wrote it was sunny - and it's been sunny again today. I'm turning into a fair weather blogger. Last time the good weather only lasted six hours, this time it's been warm for a couple of days. And I'm fed up already. It's way too hot. And my little car doesn't have air conditioning.
It's been a while (again), but I have been busy since last time. I've joined Pinterest (or, rather, my alter egos Melissa Welsh/Suzanna Ross have joined). If you look at my boards you'll see such lovely things as Feline Friends, Sweeties, Cake and Where a Fairy Might Live. I've had great fun, but I'm not too sure how useful it all is. I'd only intended to join as Suzanna Ross, but somehow the whole thing linked to Facebook and ran away with itself.
I'm also now all of a Twitter ( @sj_suz ). And I'll have you know I have over 60 followers (eat your heart out Stephen Fry). Again, can't really see the point, but I've wasted a lot of time trying to keep up with it. And there's just so much to keep up with - I think my head's about to explode if I'm honest.
As well as joining all these time wasting sties, I've also been watching television - which has given me a good excuse to revisit my sock phobia. Pobol Y Cwm - in my opinion the best Welsh soap in the entire world - had a recent story line involving a character leaving a sock in his girlfriend's house. She found it when she moved her handbag, which was odd enough. But - and this is the really disgusting bit - she picked up said sock and caressed it with her bare hands, a soft smile playing gently about her lips as she did so. Seriously. Yuk. I'd have needed rubber gloves and a plastic bag at the very least before I'd have touched it. I'm thinking of writing in.
Net result of this is I've done very little writing. But I do have some writing news. Some of you will have seen already on my Facebook Page, (apologies for the repetition) that last week I sold a pocket novel to My Weekly. I'm so pleased I could cry. It will be published on the 9th August. No doubt I'll go on a lot more about it nearer the time.
Hope you're all okay.

Fantastic news about the pocket novel!
Really well done.
(I won't comment on the sock thing. I don't really want to think about it too much as I'm just about to have my tea!)
Congrats on the pocket novel. That is sooo exciting!!!
Oh wow, well done Suz - congratulations on the pocket novel. Brilliant news :o) xx
I saw your news on FB :-) I am so thrilled for you. August isn't long to wait either :-)
I'm with you on the sock - ugh :-) x
Many congrats on that pocket novel. I'll look forward to reading it. Well done.
Massive congrats on the Pocket Novel Suzanne. Truly deserved IMHO. Caroline x
Haha, a fair weather blogger-- me too! But I still think that's better than a fair weather friend. Congrats on selling your pocket novel!
Well done on your lovely news. You have a good cry if it makes you happy!
Well done, Suzanne!
:D
Trying to get that image of the sock out of my head...ewwww! Excellent news about the pocket novel. Good on you Suz. Well done! xox
It's such wonderful news :) Congratulations!!!
OMG I totally missed that on FB! Congrats girl, you are on fire.
I don't mind socks unless they come off the feet of my teenage brother. Those should be put in with the toxic waste!
I have the same problem with social media, its hard to keep up with it all xx
Congratulations, Suzanne, on your brilliant news. That is so exciting. You must be overjoyed. I feel overjoyed for you. Well done. I can't wait to read it!
A boyfriend I had when I was nineteen told me he and his brother had been issued with a large empty Quality Street tin by their mother, in which all their dirty socks were stored until wash-day. They needed a more airtight container than a laundry basket could provide. But can you imagine the pong when that lid came off after a few days?
It put me off Quality Street for years.
Such fantastic news about your pocket novel, Suz... can't wait to buy my very own copy xx
Well done on the pocket novel, Suzanne. I've been on twitter for quiet a while and like it and I've just been accepted for Pinterest, so that's another learning curve! And yes, I'm finding it too hot now - we're just not used to it here.
I congratulated you on FB but it's worth another CONGRATULATIONS.
Can't wait to read it, Suz.
xxPat
Congratulations on selling the pocket novel. That's wonderful! You've becoming a regular in print.
Hugs!
Congrats on the sale Suzanne, you're on fire!
The sun is out here in London Town and it's fab!!! Fingers crossed it keeps shinning for all of us! Congrats on another pocket novel! Wooooo!
Oh you must tell us about the pocket novel suzanne. I think I'm following you on Twitter. Good luck with it all. Takes up a lot of time as you say.
You must cry - with pure joy and excitment. And it couldn't happen to a nicer person. I'm so glad I've read it (and bought you the plastic mascot donkey!) And I'm so glad it's being published by the lovely MW Pocket Novels.
You see in a roundabout way - our writing coffee duo rocks! See - we don't just eat scones you know! We actually write and get pubbed! Sometimes! I think we have to have an actual cake next time in celebration.
Huge hugs, jx
In my excitement - I spelled it wrong. But I'm allowed cuz I is excitement-fuzzed!

Congrats on the PN sale!
I don't have a sock phobia, but I do think caressing someone else's sock is pretty gross.
Sock caressing?! What the heck's that all about? Socks are inextricably linked to feet, and I'm not keen on feet at all - though I have to admit they're useful for getting about.
Big congrats on your Pocket Novel - I'm so pleased for you :o)
Well done indeed about the pocket novel. Love the Pinterest photos of the kittens. Gorgeous! Have a great day.
Hey Suzanne. That is FANTASTIC news!!! I'm so so pleased for you. I don't nip around the blogs as much as I should so I'm pleased I happened to see this. Let us know when it is out.

That is just fabulous news about the pocket novel! Congratulations :)
I don't know how you're keeping up with all the twittering and fb-ing and stuff, I still don't understand blogger!
Caressing used socks is a tad weird I'd say :/
xx
Suz, there's a Be Inspired award for you over at my blog - if you'd like to accept it that is :-) x
I can’t believe it’s been so long. Huge apologies for the delay in replying to your comments.
Thanks, Bernadette. Don’t blame you about the sock – I’ve been trying to get the mental picture out of my head ever since I saw it. X
Thank you, Marcy. X
Thanks, Sue. X
Thanks, Teresa. I’m afraid I’m going on about it a bit – and there’s more to come because the closer it is to publication, the more excited I am :0) X
Thank you, Rena. X
Bless you, Caroline. Thank you. X
Thanks, Karen. The fair weather thing might be the reason I’ve not blogged in such a long while – the weather’s been truly horrid recently. X
Thanks, Joanne. Yes, a good cry always cheers me up :0) X
Thank you, Jenny.
Thanks, Diane – and yes, the sock thing was disgusting. X
Thank you, Lacey. X
Thanks, Aimee. I think this one was probably worse than a teenage boy’s sock… And I’m getting worse with keeping up with the social media thing – and yet I’m spending way too much time on it X
Thanks, Joanna. Oh the Quality Street tin’s a great idea – only I think I’d have been tempted to throw it away when it was full. We have dirty sock buckets so socks don’t contaminate the rest of the laundry – I’m also tempted to throw those out when they’re full :0) X
Thank you, Mandy. X
Thanks, Rosemary. I suppose we should be careful what we wish for because now I’m too cold :0) (never happy). X
Thank you, Lovely Pat. I’m always happy to receive congratulations – which is probably why I’ve been repeating myself all over the internet.
Thank you, Carla – and ditto to you :0) X
Thank you, Scarlet. X
Thanks, Maya. And I hope the sun shone for many, many days (although, having seen the English rain on the news I’m guessing it probably didn’t).
Thank you, Suzy. And yes, we are following each other. XX
Thank you Judy. And I’m sure it was your lucky donkey mascot did the trick. Yay for cake :0) XX
Hello, Patsy – and thank you. And yes, very yukky indeed.
It was disgusting, Karen – you’ve no idea. I also hate feet – my own and everyone else’s. And thank you, so much. :0) X
Thank you, Biddy. I do like my cute kittens – glad you agree :0) X
Thank you so much, Lovely David. XX
Thank you so much, penandpaints. I’m not sure about any of it if I’m honest – and I still hate all the changes on blogger – think that’s why I stayed away so long this time. But I do agree about the sock X
Thank you so much, Teresa. I would love to accept. :0) X
