The Smallest Reading Room in Scotland?

Probably.

We were out for a drive when we happened upon this wonderful sight. An old BT red telephone box full of...

BOOKS.

BOOKS.

And more BOOKS.

This phone box was taken over by local people in Kinnesswood under BT's Adopt a Kiosk scheme and it's been transformed into a book exchange. You can read more about it here.

Thank you to all who liked my writer page on FaceBook. I reached the magic 30 likes and it's opened up a whole new world - er, well, I can see some sort of graph now in any case. I have to say I was expecting more after the way FB built it up. But very happy to have 30 likes nonetheless.

No writing news other than that I'm thinking of sending a chapter into the M&B Medical Fast Track. My requested full from the last Fast Track is still under consideration, but having read it again (I know, that's lethal) I think it might be just as well if I give myself another chance. Is anyone else giving this a go?

Great use of a phone box! They are such a distinctive feature of our streets that it's nice for them to have a new lease of life, even if no-one is phoning from them any more.

I love the phone box! What a great idea :) I won't be entering the medical fast track but I hope you do, Suz! It can't hurt to show them how productive you are (plus I want to read it) :)

I love red phone boxes and it's so good to see one put to good use and looked after.

The medical fast track submission sounds like a good idea. Best of luck with that and with the one you're waiting to hear about. I hope you hear something very soon. x

What a great use of a phone box! There's one at the end of our road and I'm tempted to pop down and stuff it with paperbacks now.

Good luck with your medical fast track (that sounds weird). I think you should definitely do it :o)

What an absolutely brilliant idea. I would certainly be patronising it. I think it should be more widely known - well, it already is since you've blogged about it, I suppose.

It would be a great use for all those obsolete and picturesque phone boxes. I'll give you another FB like, although I don't know what it is ! :)

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog the other day - unfortunately Blogger won't let me post a comment back!! Grrrr. Caroline x

I love that it doesn't get trashed, obviously a decent bunch of people where it is.

I was rather concerned until you showed the interior photo that all the books were telephone directories.

Love the phone box full of books! Would like to try that fast track but not sure I'll get round to it in time. However, I'm trying to persuade a friend to have a go.

These "Little Library" red phone boxes are common place in many Cornish villages - such a great community initiative.
I'm delighted to see the idea is spreading.
Well spotted, Suzanne

I agree, Joanne.

It is cute isn’t it Karen.

Thanks, Teresa. I know you’re right, but it’s hard not to...

I agree, Patsy.

Hi Lacey, I’ve decided not to go for the medical fast track this time – don’t think my nerves could stand it :0(

Thanks, Mandy.

Thank you, Joanna.

Thanks, Karen – I thought so, too, but I’ve wussed out.

I’d be a regular visitor too, Jenny, but it is a good few miles away. Thanks for the like :0)

Hi Caroline – don’t get me started on the blogger commenting – half the time I can’t even comment on my own blog.

So agree, Vikki.

Well said, Diane.

Hi Maya – Minxes are the best.

It is wonderful, Sue.

Agree, Biddy.

I think they keep a close eye on it, Jo :0)

Hello, Troy – great to see you back.

Lots of luck to your friend with the fast track, Rosemary.

Oooh, that’s interesting, Rena. I had no idea they had them in Cornwall.
